Ingredients

  • 5 large 10-inch tortillas
  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 oz taco seasoning packet approx. 2 tbsp
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 4 tostada shells or 2 cups of tortilla chips
  • 2/3 nacho cheese sauce
  • 2/3 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup shredded iceberg lettuce
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes
  • 2 cups shredded Mexican blend
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil for searing

Method

  1. Cook the Beef: Brown the beef in a skillet and drain the fat. Stir in taco seasoning and water, then simmer for 5 minutes until thickened.
  2. Prep Tortillas: Cut one tortilla into four quarters. Warm the remaining whole tortillas in the microwave for 15 seconds to make them flexible.
  3. Layer the Fillings: On a flat tortilla, stack nacho cheese, beef, a tostada shell, sour cream, lettuce, tomato, and shredded cheese.
  4. Fold and Seal: Place a tortilla quarter on top. Fold the edges of the large tortilla toward the center in pleats until completely sealed.
  5. Sear: Heat oil in a skillet. Place the wrap seam-side down and cook for 3–5 minutes per side until golden and crispy.
