DIY Halloween Specimen Jars

You’ll Need:

• Mason Jars
• Waterproof Tea Lights – Get them here!
• Fake Insects / Creepy Creatures
• Acrylic Paint
• Black Spray Paint
• Hot Glue Gun
• Metal Tray (optional)

Directions:

1. Spray paint the top of your mason jar lids
   • You can tap the paint while it’s wet with a paper towel to distress the metal.
2. Once the lids are dry, glue a tea light to the inside of the mason jar lid.
3. Fill up your mason jar with water and add a TINY drop of paint, mix well.
   • If the mix is too dark, dump some out and add more water
4. Add your insets / creatures
5. Turn the tea light on and place the lid back on
6. You can also place these on a metal tray and add some cobwebs to finish the look. The thrift store is a great place to find these.
