If you’ve ever done a paper mache project, you know it involves glue. You can also use flour though and it actually works great. If you need a project to last for a long time, you may want to use glue because flour could eventually start to grow mold. The flour recipe though will be much stronger and harder once it dries. I’ve listed recipes and directions for both below.
FLOUR RECIPE:
Ingredients:
1 cup flour
1 cup water
1/2 tbsp salt
Newspaper strips
Directions:
Add flour to a bowl and break up any big clumps of flour
Slowly add water and mix in a little at a time
Add in salt
This will help reserve your project and help keep mold away
Soak one of your newspaper strips in the flour mixture and apply it to your ballon.
Repeat step 4 until your balloon is completely covered. You may need 2 coats
Let this sit for at least 24 hours until it becomes hard and is dry.
