Prep Time 10 minutes
Dry Time 12 hours

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of baking soda
  • 1 cup of washing soda
  • 1 cup of kosher salt
  • ¾ cup of lemon juice
  • Ice cube trays
  • A large bowl
  • A spoon

Method

  1. Mix 1 cup baking soda, 1 cup washing soda, and 1 cup kosher salt in a bowl. Break up any clumps as you stir.
  2. Add ¾ cup lemon juice. It will fizz—this is normal.
  3. Stir until everything is evenly mixed and damp.
  4. Spoon the mixture into ice cube trays (about 1 tablespoon per slot) and press it down firmly so there are no air pockets.
  5. Let the tabs dry in the trays for about 12 hours, or until completely hard.
