DIY Pool Noodle Sprinkler (Dollar Store Summer Activity)
Looking for a fun, budget-friendly way to keep the kids cool this summer? This DIY pool noodle sprinkler is one of the easiest outdoor activities you can make using simple supplies—many of which you can grab from the dollar store!
It takes just a few minutes to put together and turns an ordinary pool noodle into a backyard sprinkler your kids will love.
Supplies You’ll Need
- Pool noodle
- Small pokey object (screwdriver, ballpoint pen, etc.)
- Aluminum foil
- Heavy-duty tape (we used Gorilla Tape)
- Garden hose
- Outdoor water spigot
How to Make a Pool Noodle Sprinkler
Step 1: Poke the Holes
Use a screwdriver or similar tool to poke small holes along one side of the pool noodle. Be careful not to push all the way through.
Then widen the holes slightly with a pen to help the water spray better.
Step 2: Cap One End
Choose one end of the noodle to seal.
Crumple a small piece of aluminum foil into a ball and push it into the center hole until it sits flush with the end.
Tape over the end securely, then wrap tape around the outside to keep everything in place.
Step 3: Attach the Hose
Insert your garden hose into the open end of the pool noodle until it fits snugly inside.
Step 4: Turn It On
Connect the hose to your outdoor spigot and turn on the water.
Time to Play!
Lay your pool noodle sprinkler on the ground or prop it up between chairs, posts, or trees for a fun spray effect.
Kids can run through it, jump over it, or even carry it around for extra fun. It’s a simple way to turn your backyard into a mini water park!
