Hike – Devils Head Fire Lookout

This is one of my favorite hikes! It is not too difficult, there is an amazing view along the whole trail and then it ends with the most amazing lookout. The trail itself is really nice, not too rocky and partially shaded. As we were making out way to the Fire Lookout, we were able to stop a few times at mini lookouts. Overall this trail is just so much fun. Once you make it to the base of the lookout, you must climb up the 143 steps in order to see this amazing view.

The views from the top have a 360 degree panorama of mountains going back as far as you can see. Devil’s Head Lookout is one of the last of the seven original Front Range Lookout towers still being used. It was built in 1951 and was operated by Bill Ellis and his wife for over 25 years.
